Crevant
Crevant is only a little further away than Chassignolles. It’s a pleasant drive on a morning to the Boulangerie in Crevant. The hills and fields and a glimpse of a deer make it a good way to start the day. The boulangerie is on the main road through the village – at the end nearest to La Chatre.
Crevant also has the nearest “small shop”, the Alimentation Generale, which has a surprising range of essentials and wine and is on the main road (on the right as you drive towards Aigurande). There is also a butchers on the main road to Aigurande.

The Parc de Parelles is close to Crevant.
The trails take you past a natural landscape ” a mosaic of micro landscapes”
dotted with large granite boulders covered with moss, the pedestrian routes plunge under vast foliage, cross the streams on rustic footbridges, skirting stone walls, skirting a pond, snaking on a hill to discover the Dordorin , Cliff or Chestnut Grove.

Aigurande
Aigurande has a range of shops similar to La Chatre. It’s pretty much the same market but on a Friday morning rather than a Saturday. The two towns feel different as Aigurande clusters around the squares whereas La Chatre focuses on the main road leading down to the main road.
One of the Cafe’s is a hub for ex pats and locals. Cafe Bar d’Annie
