There are Tourist Information offices in La Chatre and in Nohant-Vic. The towns link together as the land/country (pays) of the author Geoge Sand who lived at Nohant-Vic.

La Chatre is our local town. It is where we go to shop at the supermarket and eat out on a warm summer evening. The market on a Saturday morning is part of the routine.
It has medieval buildings – in the Place Laisnel-de-la-Salle is Maison Rougefrom the 15th century. Another medieval house can be seen on the Place du Marché.
It’s a pleasant town to just wander round. The square has a bar and restuarants as well as a range of shops. On Saturday mornings the market is typical French and bustling with local produce. Have a cafe au lait at the Cafe du Commerce and watch the market taking place.
